Meet our company President:
Robert "Bob" Phillips
Certified Public Accountant
Personal Fund Specialist™
Certified Financial Planner™
Upon graduating from California State University, Fullerton with his bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Bob quickly sat for and passed the CPA exam. He then immediately found a position as a junior CPA at a tax and accounting firm that just so happened to specialize in healthcare clients. After starting in 1986, it was not long before he proved himself as an adept young public accountant and quickly worked his way up in the firm. Only six years later, he had a decision to make: should he accept a partnership in the firm he was working at, or should he buy his book of business and venture out on his own?
In 1992, Bob founded Phillips Accountancy Corporation with a handful of clients he brought with him. These were his “early believers”; the clients who have been with him since the start, trusting his sensible, proactive advice and raving about him to their friends and family. It was these early believers that helped Phillips Accountancy grow. In the years since, Bob has grown his firm into the well-renowned, healthcare-focused powerhouse that it is today, while never losing sight of the principles that the early believers were attracted to in the first place; they are, professionalism, responsiveness, and quality.
Bob is now a frequent speaker at healthcare-focused seminars and study clubs, as well as an annual guest lecturer at Loma Linda University’s School of Dentistry. He focuses his presentations on helping doctors and dentists understand the business side of their healthcare practices, subjects which themselves are not usually taught in medical/dental school.
While he still meets regularly with a small number of clients (several of whom are among his “early believers”, still with him after almost 30 years), he is proud to be able to entrust an amazing team of people, including his daughter-in-law, Laura, and his son, Andrew, to run the day-to-day operations of Phillips Accountancy Corporation. When Bob is not in the office, he can often be found riding a BMW motorcycle through the rolling hills of Tuscany.
